Memorial Day in McCall is a great time to do some golfing, as many of the area courses are already open and in the best conditions they have been in years. Hiking is open in many areas and the wildflowers are just going crazy with color in many of the lower meadows and trails. Some of the areas in the Payette are already open to ATVs and bikes for some backcountry recreation. Call one of the Payette National Forest offices to find out what is open and how far travel is open on many of the national forest roads. If you are still itching to get into some snow on Memorial Day, the mountains are still holding record amounts of snow, so backcountry corn snowsports are still a great activity for the weekend. Road biking is a great way to get around the valley to see the wildflowers and mountain biking is open on many of the area bike trails.
